Collecting cards as a kid was a passion. I was on a mission! I was saving paper route money, reading Beckett, trading peers and hawking down inserts like a private investigator. I was damn good too. By the the age of 14 I had amassed a large collection of rookies, specialty cards and autographs.
A great first step towards financial independence. If times ever got tough, I thought, I'd always have my football cards to fall back on. Well life's a lot easier when you're twelve.
15+ years later I've dug them out of my closet. I could barely pay a months rent with all this neatly trimmed cardboard. Let's take a look at what I got.
